Clarendon Arkansas Public Hunt - Day 2Posted on January 22, 2004 by Shannon Nardi Tuesday, January 14, 2003 - Early AM
Off on our public hunt. It is so different because there are so many places we can go. It's huge. I really think the scouting part is important here. Justin and Clay had been scouting and hunting this area for a few weeks now so they had their plan. After getting the trailer that sunk as we pulled down the ramp back up and out of the water we made it out to find the Pink tape. It was kind of hard to find in the dark. We got all situated and absolutely nothing happen, except for the fact that Justin and Clay just had a plain good ole time. Ducks where high up and we just couldn't seem to get them down, so when switch positions in the hole. Still no cigar. So we moved. We went down the river to a familiar spot and set all the decoys and nothing, so we ate. Beef and cheese sticks. The topic of conversation was Peanut Butter and Jelly and the best way to eat it. JT- a folder. Big heaping spoon of Peanut butter, same with the strawberry jelly and folded bread. 6 to 7 of them. Big bag of potato chips and gallon of milk. Clay - Big peanut butter man. Bakes 2 sleeves of bread, uses a trowel to spread the PB and caulking gun to shoot on the Jelly. Top it off with a gallon of Red Top Milk. I am another breed and JT says I am not allowed to be a part of the PBJ club. I like PB and Honey on Grain bread. Oh well, I just like honey. I'll just start my own PBH club. Back to the hunt, which was just not happening today. Yella just watched the skies all morning to no avail. All the food talk made us hungry so we decided to eat breakfast then scout. I took a nap in the truck while the boys scouted and the decision was made on a different place for tomorrow, Devalls Bluff. |
